Some explorations for the "Starchild" character I did during my brief 6 month stint at Firewalk in 2020. Ryan Demita designed the original/ final character but I had the opportunity to try a take with some more alien anatomical features.

Took some inspiration from whales, dolphins and apes. Maybe a little Hellboy thrown in for good measure!
All the characters needed to show a full range of expression, so these were done to show his range. I liked the idea of the hardened skin growing as he got angry, starting from the face and chest and radiating outwards.
Posture, and motion concepts.
Tall, strong, and a bit lanky?
Wider and stocky, closer to the original design.
